What is a Spike, Who has Spikes and How does it Help Your HBA Membership?

The National Association of Home Builders developed the NAHB Spike Program in 1953 to recognize members who are actively involved in recruitment and retention of HBA members.

Here are the four main things you need to know about SPIKES:

1)  POINTS
– A full point is earned by bringing a new member on board
– One Half of a point is earned each year their new member is renewed

2)  SPIKES
– To become a Spike, you must earn six points in two consecutive years

3)  LIFE SPIKE STATUS
– Spike Members who earn a minimum of two points per year until they reach 25 points achieve Life Spike Status

4)  MILESTONES
– Milestones are recognized after accumulation of Spike points beyond Life Spike Status
– Examples are Spike Points of 50, 75, 100, 150, 200 and so on…

We have some great membership recruiters that pull in top quality members each year which increases the quality of your HBA membership in many ways. We are excited to recognize the following HBA members that became Spike Members, achieved Life Spike Status and reached Spike milestones in the past year:

Spike Member: Lindell Campbell, Chad Connell, Trent Cowherd, Jeff Fahrlander, Chris Oberhansly, Jill Squires-Vincel.
