Sponsorships are mutually beneficial relationships between two organizations. The organization holding the event benefits from funding while the funder benefits by creating brand awareness, customer loyalty or showcasing opportunities.

What makes sponsoring an HBA, CBBT or HBACF event so great? Simply stated, your funding goes toward the betterment of your HBA of Greater Springfield membership. Depending on the event, it all comes back to you in the form of political advocacy, event enhancements, and increased promotional opportunities, in addition to the ability for your company to be visable to a targeted audience that is unmatched in the Springfield area.

Do not sponsor without a plan. First, consider what you would like to achieve. If it is brand awareness then you want to sponsor an event that gets your logo in front of your target audience. If it is the promotion of a product or service then you want to be in a position to display your product/service. Once you determine what fits your organization best then outline how you would like to benefit from sponsorship. Your goal is to create a win-win situation.

Return on Investment does not always translate directly into dollars and cents. Sometimes sponsors receive immediate rewards and sometimes it is a little more challenging to gauge. Constructing a method for tracking your results is an important step. When possible measure your sponsorship benefits. If you are looking for brand awareness then consider conducting a survey before and after sponsorship. It is recommended that you contact your communications or advertising company to develop and implement a survey.
