Republic Housing Market – BOOMING?

Republic, Missouri is booming! Once considered a bedroom community, Republic has seen a significant increase in population and jobs available. The 2000 census showed that 8,400 people lived in Republic. The 2010 census showed a 76% increase in population (14,804 people total), and all records indicate the population will be more than 20,000 people in the 2020 census.

According to Gail Noggle, Planning & Development Director for the City of Republic, the cost of living is lower in Republic when compared to other communities. There are many reasons for this, two are the fact that there is no personal property tax levy for the city of Republic and the fact that the ISO Fire Rating is a 2 (the same as Springfield and Battlefield, lower than Nixa and Ozark).
