New location for the HBA Home Remodeling Show – Success!

It was a BEAUTIFUL 72º Saturday and 84º Sunday for the HBA Home Remodeling Show. Maybe a little too beautiful for some, which is the suspected cause for a slight decline in overall attendance. Larger square footage and open aisles compounded the perception of few visitors. Those that did sacrifice a few hours of great weather to attend the event turned into quality leads to many vendors. Sam Clifton, HBA President and owner of Millstone Custom Homes, stated that “there were not ten people lined up waiting to talk to us at our booth, which allowed us to have meaningful conversations with visitors without them becoming frustrated by the wait and then walking away.Click here to provide your feedback in a short survey (participating vendors only).

Booth sales grew by a whopping 24% and many attribute this increase to be a result of the location change as well as an improving economy. Double positive! As this event grows in the number and size of booths it is anticipated that attendance will also climb. This was a positive change and, with the support of HBA members, it has a bright future at its new location.

As expected, there was a little confusion by the change of location from the e*Plex to the Springfield EXPO Center, but the majority of this confusion was experienced by vendors during setup and tear down. One person stated, “I’m a little confused because I am usually trying to find the sun to warm up here at the EXPO during the HBA Home Show setup. I have to keep reminding myself that it is not winter and it is the HBA Home REMODELING Show!”
