Applicants: How to join the HBA of Greater Springfield

All applicants must submit a certificate of insurance for general liability insurance.

All applicants must submit a certificate of insurance for Workers’ Compensation.

All applicants must hold a verified “B” or higher rating from the Better Business Bureau. If the applicant does not have a current rating, the applicant may complete this online form or call 314-584-6750 to list with the BBB.

All applicants must have a current HBA member sponsor your membership application.

All applicants must submit a one-time non-refundable application fee of $25 and annual dues payment of $550 is due with the application. If your application is not approved, the board will refund your dues.

Our Mission
The Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield is the voice and advocate for construction professionals leading the way to protect and promote housing and preserve the American dream of home ownership.
Builder Member: General Contractor of new residential construction, residential remodeling (major structural alterations that encompasses the entire home) and/or residential land development.
Associate Member: Any supplier, subcontractor, or other business that, as a part of its business, acts in support of the residential construction industries, but does not specifically fit the membership type above.
Affiliate Member: If your company is currently an Associate or Builder Member and you’d like to join as an individual Affiliate Member, please contact the HBA office at 417.881.3711. Affiliate members receive full benefits of membership.
Requirements for HBA Membership:
- Payment - $550 for Annual Dues
- Payment - $25 Application Fee
- Workers Compensation Certificate of Insurance
- General Liability Certificate of Insurance
- Better Business Bureau Rating of “B” or Higher
- Builder / Remodeler - Have been in business a minimum of 2 years
- All membership applicants are required to secure a current HBA member in good standing as their member sponsor.

Membership Agreement
I understand that the HBA board of directors reserves the right to re-classify members or member applicants to a different membership type (Builder, Remodeler, Associate), on an as-necessary basis. The HBA board further reserves the right to deny or terminate any membership based on, but not limited to, criminal or civil judgments, or other serious infractions that could, in the judgment of the board, damage the effectiveness of the association in carrying out its mission.
I agree to abide by the Constitution, the Bylaws and the Code of Ethics of the Local Association to which this membership application is directed, of the National Association of Home Builders in the United States with which is affiliated, and of the affiliated State Association. I understand it may require 30 days minimum for this application to be checked with the screening committee. By my signature below, I also give my permission for the HBAGS to send me faxes, in accordance to the FCC/ FTC broadcast limitations act.
*Application and proof of insurance must be complete, and dues paid in full before application can be processed.
Important Note: Dues payments to the HBA of Greater Springfield are NOT deductible as charitable contributions for federal tax purposes. However, dues payments may be deductible by members as ordinary and necessary business expenses.

HBA of Greater Springfield Home Pros Categories


The HBA Home Pros website directory and the HBA Event Magazine Membership Guide are complementary tools used to advertise your membership to other members and to the general public. Members are listed utilizing categories and subcategories. Once your application is approved, the HBA staff will work with you to ensure your listing is included in proper categories so that your business can easily be found through a website and/or magazine search. Once your application and necessary documentation are received by HBA, you will receive an invoice for one year of membership dues and an application fee which will be payable upon receipt. If for any reason you do not become a member of HBA, the membership dues portion of that payment will be refunded.

Applicants are invited to attend HBA events and meetings as soon as application is submitted. However, the company’s membership is not effective until the HBA Board of Directors makes the final approval.
