Looking for Help this Summer? Summer Job Program

Are you looking for help this summer? The Missouri Career Center might have the answer for you – the Summer Jobs Program!

What is the Summer Jobs Program? It is a job placement program where work-ready candidates (ages 16-24) are offered valuable work experiences locally AT NO COST TO THE PARTICIPATING BUSINESS. That’s right, NO wage responsibilities and NO workers’ compensation responsibilities.

The Summer Jobs Program takes care of all of the payroll responsibilities, including paying the individual $8/hour. The employer must fill out the appropriate paperwork and submit timecards in a timely fashion. Of course, the employer can also choose to pay more per hour – visit with the Missouri Career Center to learn more.

  • All youth participants complete work readiness training prior to placement.
  • Eligibility for the program is largely based on income and positions are for candidates that need these opportunities the most.
  • Missouri Career Center staff will connect youth participants with local businesses and industries related to their individual needs and career interest. They will also consider the importance of placement with a worksite that can train youth to be prepared for jobs in growth occupations, emerging industries, and/or community service related jobs.
