HBA/CBBT ‘Advocacy Leadership Team’ Gives Associates Exclusive Builder Access

What HBA members need and want MOST!

For the better part of a year, HBA of Greater Springfield President Matt Bailey has met repeatedly (both formally and informally) with associate and builder members of the HBA to survey them and gather input and feedback on how to best provide meaningful value for their HBA membership investment. Over time, patterns began to develop in the feedback he received. His key findings are profoundly simple…

Every HBA member wants / needs something different from their HBA membership. Some of the universally-valued member benefits include: education, marketing / promotional opportunities, peer networking, business tools and the opportunity to build community in a fun environment. But as valuable as those benefits are, most HBA members indicate that their membership isn’t fundamentally about any of those things. At the most basic level, builder members and associate members have different, but related primary needs from their membership: Builders need advocacy. Associates need builders. The 2012 HBA/CBBT Advocacy Leadership Team represents an attempt to meet both those needs in an unprecedented way: The program funds the advocacy that builders need, by providing the access that associates need (to download a flier summarizing the program, including the names of the twenty “Builder Advocacy Partners” for 2012, click here).

Participants in the Advocacy Leadership Team include:

  1. Builder Advocacy Partners:  These are twenty of the most in-demand builder and/or remodeler members of the HBA of Greater Springfield. They are the builders associate most want to access. They care about the advocacy the HBA provides on their behalf and have committed to fully participate in each of the CBBT’s Advocacy Leadership Events (Legislative Day, Fast Pitch, Slow Pitch, and Shooting Tournament). Each Builder Advocacy Partner is also an annual contributor to the CBBT.
  1. Associate Advocacy Champions: Associate Advocacy Champions demonstrate their full commitment to home builders’ highest priority by underwriting the advocacy efforts of the HBA. In exchange, they receive a variety of direct access networking and marketing opportunities (opportunities not available to other associates) to the HBA’s Builder Advocacy Partners and other key builder members. Associate Advocacy Champion Level of Investment is open to all HBA Associate members, but is limited to twenty champions per year.
  1. Associate Sustaining Advocates: Associate Sustaining Advocates demonstrate their support of home builders’ highest priority by helping to underwrite the advocacy efforts of the HBA. In exchange, they receive recognition and certain direct access networking and marketing opportunities (opportunities not available to other associates) to the HBA’s Builder Advocacy Partners and other key builder members. Associate Sustaining Advocate Level of Investment is open to all Associate members.
