Political Advocacy

The HBA of Greater Springfield is the chief advocate for the residential construction industry in the ten counties it serves. Specifically, the Association's political advocacy involves working to help elect men and women on the municipal, county, state, and federal levels who understand the important role residential construction and remodeling plays in our overall economy and quality of life. The HBA is a non-partisan political advocate. Using its political action committee (the Coalition for Building a Better Tomorrow), the HBA evaluates and supports candidates for office strictly on the basis of how the candidate aligns with the priorities of the building industry. The HBA of Greater Springfield's philosophy is that political advocacy is the central key to all other forms of advocacy in which the HBA engages. Successful political advocacy ensures reasonable audiences will hear the HBA's arguments when engaging in regulatory and legislative advocacy. And it greatly reduces the potential need to engage in costly and volatile legal advocacy. News about the HBA's political advocacy efforts can be found on this page.

For information about the association's other forms of advocacy, see:  Regulatory AdvocacyLegislative Advocacy, or Legal Advocacy.
