Charlyce Ruth, Operations Manager

Charlyce Ruth serves as Operations Manager of the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield. Charlyce holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a minor in economics from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington.
Charlyce’s professional background includes working in both residential and commercial construction. While living in Seattle, Washington, she worked for a commercial construction company. She then moved to Springfield and worked for a residential construction company. At both companies, she was responsible for job costing and working with scheduling.
Since coming to work for the HBA in the fall of 1999, Charlyce has been instrumental in the planning of all of the HBA annual events, including the Home Show, Home Remodeling EXPO, Parade of Homes, golf tournaments, fishing tournaments and the HBACF Mini Golf Event. In addition, Charlyce serves as the staff liaison to the HBA Charitable Foundation and is responsible for maintaining the financial records for the HBA and the HBA Charitable Foundation.
Charlyce’s husband Jeff is employed with the City of Springfield at the Springfield-Branson Airport. Jeff collects and restores antique tractors and steam engines, and serves on the Early Days Gas Engine & Tractor Association board and The Steam Engine Association board.

Aaron Wahlquist, Communications Director
Aaron Wahlquist serves as Communications Director of the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield. Aaron holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from SMSU (now MSU), in Springfield, MO and a Masters Degree in Communications with emphasis in Advertising from the University of Tennessee.
Aaron has more than 21 years experience in communications, advertising, graphic design, publications and web design including: Publications Director, Pellissippi State Community College – Continuing Education; Art Director, Perkin Marketing; and owner of justADhumor, inc (justADvertize) since 1998. As a hobby Aaron performed Stand-up Comedy between 1997 and 2000.
From 1995 until December 2010 Aaron contracted for the HBA of Greater Springfield on projects such as the HBA Event Magazine, website, photography, graphic design and videography. As Communications Director he is responsible for the coordination of all publications, e-publications, social media, website, advertising and sponsorship sales as well in-house graphic design and branding of the HBAGS.
Storm spotting is a passion of Aaron’s. When severe weather approaches he is armed as an official Skywarn Storm Spotter with a HAM radio license. When you don’t see him spotting storms you can look for him on the ski slopes, mountain bike trails or motocross track.
Aaron’s wife Kim handles all the bookkeeping for justADvertize and works for the United Methodist Region office as Communications Coordinator. In addition, she manages two awesome children at home – Hannah and Keaton. Proudly Aaron and Kim have a daughter attending Missouri State University who is an outstanding young lady. In 2007 they lost their twelve year old son Tanner who will never be forgotten. Aaron and Kim are members of the James River Assembly of God and Aaron enjoys coaching basketball and helping coach high jump when the opportunity arises.

Kay Wylie, Office Manager
Kay Wylie manages many of the day-to-day functions of the HBA office and provides logistical support for numerous events and programs. She is the primary point of contact and support for inquiries about membership and other member services/benefits and serves as staff liaison for HBA’s membership and green committees.Kay has been with the HBA for over five years after retiring from dental hygiene and owning a small organizing business. She enjoys learning about and supporting the construction industry, related businesses, and its impact on the community.
