Metropolitan National Bank Offers Ongoing Education for Employees

Employees at Metropolitan National Bank can now take advantage of an exceptional opportunity to expand their industry knowledge through the newly offered Metropolitan National Bank’s Employee Certificate Program. The multi-faceted course of study, as part of Metropolitan National Bank’s Pride, Passion and Culture Initiative, will work to elevate internal talent by providing advancement opportunities for successful program completion.

“At Metropolitan, our employees are critical to the success of our business. For that reason, we believe in building a culture that promotes educational opportunities to maximize our employees’ potential,” said Mark McFatridge.

The Certificate Program is offered free of charge for all Metropolitan employees, and will eventually consist of five total Certificate Levels. The first Certificate Level was introduced to employees in 2014. Comprised of self-paced online tutorials, employees can study a variety of industry-relevant subjects, including: Principles of Banking Fundamentals, Business, Management, Computer Science, and more.

The dynamic coursework of the Certificate Program exposes employees to a variety of innovative teaching methods. Coursework is sourced from multiple, nationally-recognized platforms such as Regulatory University, Coursera, TED Talks, and other web-based, local, and in-house sources.

Mark McFatridge continued, “The Certificate Program encourages Metropolitan employees to become lifelong learners in their trade. The results are then passed to our customers in the form of quality customer service and industry-leading banking advisement.”

The Certificate Program is reflective of the Metropolitan mission to strive for excellence, every day. Participation and successful completion of the Certificate Program will allow employees to actively carry out this mission with pride. The following Metropolitan employees have successfully completed Level 1: April Nake, Betina Morelock, Eric Schmidt, Florence Matney, Jillian Barkacs, Kathryn Phipps. Lauren Shelton, Megan Neyer, Zach Simonds and Cassandra Miller, Springfield; Brenda Smith, Gina Becker and Nancy Akromis, Branson West; Harlie Oost and Patti Gibbs, Kimberling City; and Sarah Lowe, Seneca Berry and Stephanie Forbes, Marshfield.
